Overview
BAUHAUS is one of Germany's leading home improvement retailers, with more than 270 large stores for workshop, home and garden. In August 2025 it opened a marketplace on bauhaus.info, where selected third-party sellers can sell DIY, garden and home products to BAUHAUS customers. For a brand in tools, DIY, garden or home, the BAUHAUS marketplace is a new, fast-growing channel in Germany.
Who is behind BAUHAUS
BAUHAUS is a family-owned retailer headquartered in Mannheim, Germany. It specialises in products for workshops, homes and gardens, serving both DIY enthusiasts and professional customers, and its large stores are known for their wide range and specialist advice.
The BAUHAUS marketplace
- Live since August 2025 on bauhaus.info in Germany. BAUHAUS announced a strategic partnership with Mirakl on 07.01.2026 to scale the marketplace.
- Curated. BAUHAUS describes it as a curated marketplace that adds choice while keeping its trusted quality.
- Traffic. According to integration partner ChannelEngine, bauhaus.info had about 9.9 million monthly visits in 2025.
- Germany first. The marketplace currently serves Germany, with other countries expected later.
How selling on BAUHAUS works
- Application. Sellers apply through the "Marktplatz-Partner werden" page on bauhaus.info and need a dedicated contact person for the project.
- Commission. According to ChannelEngine, BAUHAUS keeps a 12% commission on sales.
- The seller ships. There is no marketplace fulfilment service, so sellers ship orders and handle returns themselves.
- No buy box. Offers are not combined into a buy box, so content quality matters.
- German content and BAUHAUS data rules. Products need German content, EANs and data mapped to the BAUHAUS data model.
- Mirakl. Sellers connect through Mirakl Connect or a multichannel tool.
Why BAUHAUS matters for brands
BAUHAUS brings a large, loyal DIY audience, and its marketplace is still young. For a DIY or garden brand already on Amazon.de, OBI or Kaufland, BAUHAUS is a natural next German channel, and sellers already on other Mirakl DIY marketplaces such as B&Q can connect easily.
