Carrefour is one of the world's largest retailers, a French multinational hypermarket group founded in 1958 and headquartered in Massy, near Paris. The Carrefour format is the hypermarket — large out-of-town stores combining full-line grocery with general merchandise, clothing, electronics, garden, automotive, and household goods. Carrefour Marketplace

Carrefour operates online marketplaces across its major markets — France, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Poland, and Argentina among others — powered by the Mirakl marketplace platform. Third-party sellers can list products on Carrefour.fr and its international equivalents, reaching the enormous consumer base that already uses Carrefour as a primary grocery and general merchandise destination. The marketplace offers categories well beyond grocery: consumer electronics, fashion, sports, baby and child, pets, home improvement, and garden are all significant and growing.

Digital transformation

Carrefour has invested heavily in its digital and e-commerce capabilities under its Carrefour 2026 strategic plan. Click-and-collect, home grocery delivery, and marketplace expansion are all central pillars. The group's retail media product — Carrefour Links — allows brands to reach Carrefour shoppers with highly targeted advertising both on and off Carrefour's digital properties, drawing on loyalty card data from hundreds of millions of shoppers.
