Overview
Conrad Electronic is a German supplier of technology and electronics that has turned itself into a B2B sourcing platform. Through the Conrad Marketplace on conrad.de and its country sites, manufacturers and distributors sell technical products, components, tools and electronics to business customers and private shoppers. For a brand with technical, electronic or workshop products, Conrad is a route to professional buyers across Europe.
Who is behind Conrad
Conrad was founded in 1923 and is a family-owned company headquartered in Hirschau, Bavaria, Germany. It operates in 17 European countries. Around 80% of its revenue now comes from business customers. Its revenue was EUR 890 million in 2023, the latest figure it has published, as it shifted from a classic electronics retailer to a sourcing platform. Conrad's goal is to become Europe's leading sourcing platform for technical supplies.
The Conrad Marketplace
Conrad opened its online marketplace for business customers in mid-2017, and the Conrad Sourcing Platform now offers millions of products, with figures of 7 to 10 million product offers mentioned by the company. More than 2 million B2B customers use Conrad for technical supplies. The marketplace has expanded from Germany to Austria, the Netherlands and Italy. Conrad says every marketplace seller has either been vetted by its sales team or holds an ISO certificate.
