Overview
Littlewoods is a UK online department store selling fashion, home, electricals, toys and gifts at littlewoods.com, together with flexible payment options. It is part of The Very Group, one of the UK's largest online retailers. For a consumer brand, Littlewoods is a smaller sister channel to Very.co.uk, reaching UK shoppers who value paying over time.
Who is behind Littlewoods
Littlewoods started as a catalogue retailer and is now operated online by The Very Group, based in Liverpool, which also owns Very.co.uk and Very Ireland. In November 2025 the US investment firm Carlyle took ownership of The Very Group from the Barclay family. In the year to June 2025, the group had sales of about GBP 2.1 billion and record adjusted EBITDA of GBP 307 million. Littlewoods is much smaller than Very: Very UK makes up most of the group's sales, while Littlewoods revenue has been falling. A sale process for The Very Group run by Carlyle in 2026 was reported to be close to being scrapped after bidders did not meet the asking price.
What the shopper sees
Littlewoods combines a broad product range with credit-based flexible payments, which is central to the group's business model. The group's best-performing categories recently have been home, toys and beauty.
How brands can work with Littlewoods
Brands work with The Very Group as suppliers. A brand considering the group should be ready with:
- Products in its key categories, such as home, electricals, toys, beauty and fashion.
- UK compliance for each category.
- Supply and fulfilment that meet the group's requirements.
