Overview
Made in Design is a French online retailer of designer furniture, lighting, tableware and home décor, with country sites across Europe, including France, the UK, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. It sells more than 30,000 products from around 400 brands, from design classics to young designers. For a design-led home brand, Made in Design is a specialist European channel.
Who is behind Made in Design
Made in Design was founded in 1999 by Catherine Colin and is based near Grenoble. It grew with investment from Gimv and opened in the UK in 2008, followed by Germany and Italy. In 2019 the French department store group Printemps bought 100% of the company, which then had revenue of about EUR 35 million. Made in Design is part of Printemps' online business alongside Place des Tendances, and it also appears in Printemps stores, for example with its design sales at Printemps Haussmann in Paris.
