Overview
Nocibé is France's second-largest selective perfumery and beauty retailer, with around 550 stores across France, an online shop at nocibe.fr and a strong beauty institute business. It sells fragrance, make-up, skincare and haircare from more than 900 brands. For a beauty or fragrance brand that wants to reach French shoppers, Nocibé is one of the most important retail partners.
Who is behind Nocibé
Nocibé is the French subsidiary of the Douglas Group, Europe's leading premium beauty retailer, listed in Frankfurt. Douglas had sales of almost EUR 4.6 billion in 2024/25, up 3.5%, and its France division, which is Nocibé, had sales of EUR 838 million, roughly stable. Nocibé is led by Nicolas Debray, who joined at the end of 2023. It holds about 23% of the French selective beauty market and has about 12 million customers in France, aged from 25 to 85. Stores, institutes and online
Nocibé has around 550 stores, about 440 of them owned and 110 franchised, and opens around 35 stores a year on average, including new stores, extensions and relocations. It has around 1,000 beauticians working in about 800 treatment rooms, and since mid-2025 it has created new "instant institut" spaces for quick beauty treatments. Nocibé was an early mover in e-commerce: online and mixed online-and-store customers account for about 30% of its sales.
Strategy
Nocibé wants to win back share in a very competitive French beauty market, where new players, from Korean and Japanese brands to French companies such as Aroma-Zone, are growing fast. Its plan combines new stores, a broader product range, a balance of iconic brands, emerging brands and exclusives, and a focus on beauty services as a "holistic beauty destination".
How brands can work with Nocibé
Nocibé works with brands as a selective beauty retailer, buying products for its stores and website. A brand approaching Nocibé should be ready with:
- A fragrance, make-up, skincare or haircare brand with a clear positioning, whether iconic, emerging or a potential exclusive.
- EU cosmetics compliance, including CPNP notification and correct French labelling.
- Marketing and in-store support, such as testers, training for beauty advisers and promotions.
- Strong content for nocibe.fr and the Nocibé app.
Why Nocibé matters for brands
Nocibé reaches millions of French beauty shoppers through one of the country's densest beauty store networks, backed by Douglas's European scale.
