Overview
Orderchamp is a Dutch online wholesale marketplace that connects independent retailers with brands across Europe. Shop owners use it to discover new products and order from many brands in one place, with low minimum orders and payment terms, while brands use it to reach new stockists. For a consumer brand that wants to grow in independent retail in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and nearby markets, Orderchamp is a European alternative to Faire and Ankorstore.
Who is behind Orderchamp
Orderchamp was founded at the beginning of 2019 in Amsterdam by Dennis Cuijpers, Joost Brugmans, Max Verduyn, Menno Wolvers and Ruud Stelder. In May 2021 it raised USD 20 million in a Series A round led by Prime Ventures. At that time it was active in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France and Luxembourg, with more than 1,800 brands and 30,000 retailers. It has since grown and has reported connecting more than 7,000 brands and tens of thousands of independent retailers, with offices in the Netherlands and other European countries.
How Orderchamp works
- For retailers: low minimum orders, often under EUR 100 per brand, payment terms of up to 60 days, and free shipping on many orders. Retailers can also use dropshipping.
- For brands: access to thousands of independent retailers, with Orderchamp handling payment and some of the logistics.
- Curation. Brands must meet Orderchamp's quality criteria to be listed.
- Recommendations. Orderchamp uses algorithms to recommend relevant brands and products to retailers.
- Physical wholesale. Orderchamp also works with physical wholesale centres.
What it costs
Joining Orderchamp is free for both retailers and brands. Brands pay a commission on orders from new retailers found through the platform, and 0% commission on orders from retailers they invite themselves, since those were already their customers.
