Overview
Unieuro is Italy's leading retailer of consumer electronics and home appliances, with a network of direct and affiliated stores across the country and a large online business at unieuro.it. Since the start of 2025 it has been part of the French group Fnac Darty. For an electronics, appliance or home tech brand, Unieuro is one of the most important channels in Italy.
Who is behind Unieuro
Unieuro was founded in 1937 and is headquartered in Forlì. It had revenue of about EUR 2.6 billion in 2023, with a strong presence in northern and central Italy, and around 250 affiliated stores in addition to its own stores. In 2024 Fnac Darty and Ruby Equity Investment, controlled by Daniel Křetínský, launched an offer for Unieuro, and by early 2025 they held more than 90% of the shares, leading to Unieuro's removal from the stock exchange. Together, Fnac Darty and Unieuro form a European group with more than EUR 10 billion in sales, about 30,000 employees and more than 1,500 stores. See also our Darty and Fnac pages.
Unieuro today
Unieuro combines its store network with unieuro.it and click and collect. It also sells its own brands, such as household appliances under its "Simplicity of life" range, and runs a wholesale business serving other retailers and businesses. Fnac Darty has said that online sales and marketplace activity are less developed at Unieuro than in the rest of the group, which suggests they are an area for growth. Unieuro continues to open new stores, for example in Trento.
How brands can work with Unieuro
Unieuro works with brands mainly as a retailer, buying products for its stores and website. A brand approaching Unieuro should be ready with:
- Electronics, appliances or home tech products with detailed specifications.
- Italian product content and packaging.
- EU compliance, such as CE marking, energy labels and WEEE contributions.
- Competitive pricing and promotional support in a price-sensitive market.
- Supply capacity for a national store network.
Why Unieuro matters for brands
Unieuro is a leader in Italian electronics retail, and as part of Fnac Darty it is backed by one of Europe's largest electronics retail groups.
