Overview
Vanden Borre is a leading Belgian retailer of audio, TV, multimedia and household appliances, with around 70 stores across Belgium and a large online shop at vandenborre.be. Next to its own range, it runs a marketplace where selected partner brands can sell to its customers. For an electronics or appliance brand, Vanden Borre is one of the most important channels in Belgium.
Who is behind Vanden Borre
Vanden Borre was founded in Brussels in 1865 and went online in 2003. It was part of the Darty group and has been part of Fnac Darty since Fnac bought Darty in 2016. Fnac Darty, listed in Paris, is one of Europe's largest retailers of electronics, home appliances and cultural products, and also owns Fnac, Darty and the Italian chain Unieuro. Vanden Borre has more than 1,200 employees, and its head office is in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw, near Brussels. Belgium was Fnac Darty's first international market. See also our Darty and Fnac pages.
What the shopper sees
Vanden Borre is known for its "Contrat de Confiance" (trust contract), with clear commitments on price, advice, service and sustainability, inherited from Darty. It offers delivery, installation and after-sales service, and its website has more than 10 million visits a year.
The Vanden Borre marketplace
Vanden Borre runs a curated marketplace where partner brands list products next to its own range. Vanden Borre decides which brands it accepts and sets terms per brand. Only customers with a Belgian delivery address can order from the marketplace.
How selling on Vanden Borre works
- Selected partners in electronics, appliances and related categories.
- Accurate product data and images, since customers are asked to review every purchase and ratings matter.
- Dutch and French content for Belgium.
- Delivery to Belgian addresses and service that meets Vanden Borre's standards.
- EU compliance, such as CE marking, energy labels and WEEE contributions.
Why Vanden Borre matters for brands
Vanden Borre is where many Belgian shoppers go to replace a TV or washing machine. Its marketplace gives brands access to that audience, backed by the Fnac Darty group.
